Bouquet Toss

I made this little bouquet of wine roses. Which I believe my BFF told me was the flowers she was using for the wedding. I am going to use it for a game. I stole this game idea from one of the many shower game sites that I have looked at recently. The idea of the game is to toss the bouquet the furthest. The winner gets to keep the bouquet. It is pretty fun. I have been practicing in the back yard. The neighbors I am sure think that I am crazy. I can't wait to see everyone try. Feel free to steal this idea for any upcoming showers you may be hosting.

Flower Pens

This basket is full of what looks like fall flowers, however they are actually ink pens. I am sure all crafty people have seen or made these pens in the past. I decided to make them for my upcoming shower. We are going to be playing paper games where the guest will be required to write down answers. So why not play double duty with these flower pens. I am also going to use them as center pieces on the tables. Thanks for looking.

Panty Invasion

So these little guys are the reason I have been so busy this last week. I had to make 18 pairs. I just love them. I use New Arrival cartridge for the panty. However it was only 2" big. So I drove over to Kinko's and enlarged it 350x's and them of course I had to cut each panty out by hand. And each invite took 4 panties to complete. You could get by with only two panties if you used cardstock, I only used paper that I had on hand.
That is 72 panties I cut out this past week. But it was worth it. The bride loves them. Hope you do to.

Got More Stuff!!

I just got back from the store again. I now have all of the things I need for my party. I found some super cute prizes/gifts. I even was able to buy my actual shower gift. All on sale. Ya me!! I am heading off to bed now so I can get an early start tomorrow. Night everyone!

TGIF!!

Today just couldn't pass fast enough. Since starting to plan for this shower, I have a million and one ideas running around in my head. They are starting to make me dizzy, there's so many. I ran to Michael's last night to get a couple more sheets of cardstock for the invitations, and to return a hole punch. I ended up finding several game prizes, and everything was on clearance at such good prices. I walked out of that store with 2 shopping bags and a 40 cent refund in my pocket. Can't beat that. They paid me to shop. Now that's the life. I went back today at lunch and the super sale was over. Everything that was left was marked back up to full price. It was about 7:30 last night when I was there and they were still marking items down, then by 11:30 this morning it was returned to full price. It was very weird, like the sale only lasted a couple hours. Anyways I am just glad I got the bargains. Off to chase them ideas.

Party Planning

I have been super busy today, planning for my BFF's upcoming bridal shower. It's isn't going to be just another boring shower with a ton of housewares as gifts. I am throwing her a personal shower. Where she will receive gifts that are only for her use. I made the little favors this morning, little goblets filled with bath salts. Then the rest of the day I have worked on her party invitations. I will post them once I am completely finished with one. It will be a several day process. So no cards this week.

Name Card

Gloria I want you to know that I can change this to say Sheri. When I first started I thought Sheri was the one turning 60. So it wasn't until I reread my note that I noticed. This one would be my second fav. I hope this one will work for Sheri. I once again I like the birthday words so I just added the recipients name with little brads. I used George cartridge with the charm feature.

"60"

I Love to make age cards. Especially for the milestone birthday's. Gloria's sister is going to be 60, in case you couldn't guess that. At first when she asked me to make her a card she didn't mention her age. Once I found out it was a mile stone birthday I knew I couldn't let it go by with out making her a age card. I used Cuttin Up cartridge to you out the numbers and George for the flowers. Then I just embellished the numbers with tiny purple beads, you guesses it there are 60 in there. I hope you like this one Gloria. It's my fav.

60th Cupcake

Saturday I was hooked on cupcakes can you tell. I deiced to add some bling to this cupcake. So I used glitter on the icing, on the wrapper and for the sentiment.

Cupcakes

This idea came to me while I was making another card early this week. (Fuzzy Pink Dots) It started out as the same concept patterned paper shape cut out, large image in the center. How ever once I started to put it together it looked to plain. So I decided that I needed more cupcakes. If one is good five is better. Then I finished it off with the ribbon. However it was still missing something. The Cherry on Top. So I actually used a fuzzy pink dot from my inspiration card as the final touch. Looks good enough to eat. I used the doodlecharms cartridge.

Short Wave Inside

This is the inside of the previous card. This was one of my first attempts at scrapping on the cards inside. As you can see it turned out beautiful. I used the same word paper from the front for the flowers. I cut the flowers with George. And then just glued a strip of fuchsia paper and turquoise ribbon and pop dotted the flowers out.

Short Wave

This is another card with a shorter front. I love all of the birthday words, so I didn't want to cover them up, but other wise it looked to plain. I will have to post the inside separately, because it keeps putting that picture first.

Make A Wish

I just recently came across some of the Martha Stewart punches. I found them at a garage sale for a fraction of the cost. I used the star one on this card. The front of this card is shorter than the back (hence that why my husband is holding it) This is a new technique that I am trying. I like the idea of being able to see the sentiment from the front and the inside. I used another birthday paper for the front, and the purple is just the reverse side. Then I made my own rub on "Make A Wish!"

Bear Paw

I came across this large paw print in with my scraps, as I was trying to create the previous card. Sorry, I don't know what cartridge I used to cut the paw print, it was one I had rented.

Happy Bearthday

I thought this paper was adorable. Happy Bearthday. It was also on sale, so it was meant to be. It wasn't until I got home and went to use it that I had no idea's. Then I looked on my doodlecharms cartridge and noticed this little bear. I know then that he would be perfect. I also cut out a little present and added a red ribbon to the bottom. Isn't he bearutiful!

Party Hat Card

I used the same technique as on the previous one. Still I had forgot to mirror the image. I am more happy with this 2nd attempt. Doodlecharms was also used for this one. My wonderful husband found the doodlecharms cartridge on sale and ordered it for my today. It is suppose to be for my birthday in October. Maybe he'll forget and I will still get something Else.

Shape Gift Card

So this was my first attempt at a shape card. It turned out pretty good I guess. I wish that I would have turned to pattern the other way. I was in a hurry because I had only rented the doodlecharms cartridge and it was due back in 30 mintues. so I just cut out 2 presents how ever I forgot to do a mirror image, so I had to cut the back of the card the old school way, trace and cut. I hope you like it. I used Doodlecharms

Thinking of You

I made this as a thinking of you card to represent fall. I sent it to a co worker this afternoon. Just wanted her to know I hope she is feeling better, and that I am thinking of her. With all of this technology today, I don't think people send cards like they use to. But just remember back when you actually got a piece of mail that wasn't junk mail or a bill. How enjoyable. Receiving cards and letters make people smile and happier. Make some one's day and send them a card for no reason.

Yum Yum Ice Cream

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. When I saw this paper at the store I just couldn't leave it behind. I absolutely love the yum yum factor. Ice cream reminds me of warm summer nights and cool creamy ice cream. Refreshing. Enjoy. I used Indie Art cartridge for the cone and ice cream scoops. Then I just ran 2 stripes of ribbon down the side and attached a matching bow.

Thank You

I know this is kinda hard to see but the paper is green and sparkly. I feel that you can never have to many thank you cards. I used George cartridge for both the flower and sentiment. Then just added a button and ribbon to finish it off.

Sorry Gloria

I didn't forget about your cards. I worked on them yesterday and made a total of 13 cards. Not all were birthday, so I hope that you can find a couple. I will be posting them the rest of the evening. Enjoy.

And His Skelton

Another Spider card using his skelton

Spider

I purchased this spider paper several years ago on clearence after Halloween. I recently rediscovered it when I was cleaning out a scrap drawer. So I decided with Halloween around the corner I would put it to use. I guess now that maybe I am going to have to hand out Halloween Spookies. I used the Indie Art cartridge to cut out the spider. Have spooktacular Day!

Fuzzy Pink Poka Dots

As you can tell I have been very busy today making cards. Thanks to the rain. I love this paper, the pink dots are fuzzy, and fun. I bought this last fall to you as a birthday card for my youngest sister, however I went a different route. Actually I just couldn't bring myself to cut it. But after seeing this beautiful creation come from it I am glad that I did.

Birthday Crayon Technique

Okie's 8/18 challenge Sketch #3. The twist on this sketch was to use a new technique. I decided to reminisce about grade school and melt crayon shaving between wax paper. This wasn't a difficult project, however it wasn't exactly like I remember it. But I do love how it turned out.

Strawberry Birthday

Okie's 8/18 challenge Sketch #2. For this sketch we were to use a cartridge that we hadn't used it 6 months. Well this worked out great for me, I just bought the Indie Art cartridge today. Yesterday my bosses included a gift card in with my paycheck. It was a thank you gift for working extra hours and picking the slack for another lady off on medical leave. So I treated myself.

Love

Okie's 8/18 challenges all had an extra twist to them. I was pretty intimidated by that twist at first, but then it rained here today so I just sat down and started working and before I knew it I had several idea's rolling around upstairs. So the twist on sketch #1 was to scrap off the card. This was easier than I thought it would be, I am not normally an outside of the box kinda a girl. I used my George cartridge to make the large hearts, you can't really tell by the picture but the large heart is red and the smaller one is dark pink. I then cut the swirls from Calligraphy cartridge in both colors. I also cut love from there as well. The small hearts I just used a hole punch. I hope you LOVE it!

Birthday

A lady at work asked me to make a couple birthday cards for her. I thought over the next couple weeks I would make several different ones and let her pick. I used the George cartridge for the flowers and squares. The sentiment is just stamped on a piece of vellum. Then the ribbon on the bottom is tri-layered.

Let it Snow

Okie's 8/11 challenge sketch #2. I am not in love with this sketch layout. But I didn't pick it, so I just made the best of it. I love the large snowflake all glittery. I used the George cartridge to cut out the circles then trimmed them to fit the card. I traced a stencil that I had for the large snowflake and then just glittered the snowflake and sentiment. Another Christmas card down only 15 left to go.

Christmas Card

Okie's 8/11 Challenge sketch #1 one of the sketches for this week had to be a Christmas card. I thought that it was kinda early to start with Christmas, but then I remembered last years cards are in the bottom of my scrap drawer (unfinished) I ended up sending out store bought cards. So this year my new goal is to make at least 1 Christmas card a week from now until Dec 1st that way I will be ahead. One down 16 to go.

Halloween Card

Okies 8/11 challenge. I have had this halloween witch paper forever. I bought it at Jeffery Allen's when they first started carring scrapbooking items, I would have to say about 10-12 years ago. I also have paper with haunted houses and scary eyes that I bought at that same time, it was only clarence after Halloween. I used the George cartridge to cut out the hats (triangles w/ silver marker band and a brad) and the rectangle. The hehe was cut from the Calligraphy cartridge. The orange ribbon is left over from one of my sister's projects for her upcoming wedding. I also I am not sure what it is that I am going to do with this card yet, I normally don't give out Halloween cards. But it was fun to make.

Wedding Project

Today wasn't very productive in the card making department. My mom called early this morning and wanted help with a few wedding projects for my sister upcoming wedding. So she had this idea of wrapping the little bottles of bubbles in tulle. No problem, we have done that before. However my sisters wedding color is burnt orange! And as you crafters may know they don't make tulle in that color. So we had to dye the little tulle circles. That was a pain in the neck. And then of course they all had to be dried and ironed. This ended up being a 3 hour project. Mom is going to wrap the rest tomorrow, because we ran out of time. We spent to much time looking for the perfect color ribbon, and still didn't find it so we made due. Well on my way to bed. Promise tomorrow I will work on some more cards and try to get them posted. Night Yall

Hoopty Troubles

I was super busy this morning at work, so I came home for lunch to get away and take a break. WRONG!! When I got home my puppy was acting sick, called my husband, he was getting a lift back to work by a tow truck. His hoopty broke down today. Tow guy charged $75. After all of that I wasn't even it the mood for lunch. Went back to work it was pretty calm the rest of the day. Came home the tow guy just dropped the hoopty in the street, we had to push it in to the driveway. That was a chore. It was too heavy for Tony to push by himself so I had to help. There was nobody inside the car to break, so it ran into our shed. Finally after an hour of farting with it, it was in the driveway (not the shed). I had planned scrap tonight but now I am out of the mood. I am going to veg on the couch and watch TV. Hope tomorrow goes better.

Sweet One

Okie's 8/4 Challenge Sketch #3

Since I am a dog lover, I decided to make sketch #3 a new puppy parent card. Since I don't have children, I would have loved to received a card like this when we got Hershey. I just can't wait until someone I know gets a new puppy. I got this paper from the pet stack pad from Hobby Lobby. I cut the hearts from George and the wording from Calliagraphy. I got the brads from our local scrapbook store, but I have seen them at Hobby Lobby (cheaper--next time)

HI

Okie's 8/4 Challenge Sketch #2
I choose to make sketch #2 a Hi note card for a friend that I enjoys my cards that I haven't seen or talked to in a while. She will be very surprised when she receives this. Plus I hope it will cheer her up, she is looking for a new job, in a new city. I used 2 pieces of double sided paper for the background and rectangles. The ribbon I got at Michael's and the I used the same paper to cut the circle and flowers from the George cartridge. I also cut HI from George on white paper.

Lori's Ladybug Birthday

Okie's 8/4 Challenge Sketch #1
I decided to make the Okie's challenge sketch #1 a birthday card for a co-worker's birthday. Which was today. She didn't tell anybody that today was her birthday so, it will be belated. I can't remember what cartridge I used to cut the ladybug. I had it on hand left from another project. But the flower is from George and the paper is from Joann's. Happy Birthday Lori!

Gloria New Home Card

I am on my way to bed, but I wanted to stop by and post my latest 4 cards that I have made the last couple nights. This card I made for a co -workers friend, who just bought a new house. New house cards are hard to come by. I used my community cartridge to make all but the sun, and flowers. The sun was made with the George cartridge and the flowers are from a hole punch.

Posting Delay

I want to take a moment to apologize to all of my followers, I am sorry that I haven't been posting new cards as often as I would like. I have been work on new cards nightly. It is just taking a little longer to get them posted. I will work on that over the next few weeks. Thanks for continuing to follow.

Bride & Groom Wedding Invitation

Here it finally is!! This is the one she decided on. So as you can see I have been pretty busy. I had to make 100+. With 2 different verses. It is going to be a small wedding, family only. The church is pretty small, it only has 10 pews. Then they are having a large reception for there friends and extended family.
I started off this invite with white card stock, used black/gray stripe wedding paper from Hobby Lobby, then just a heavy white printer paper that I printed the verse on. Then the top page is stamped with a Bride/Groom wedding stamp also from Hobby Lobby (my favorite store) Then all of the pieces are attached with a black knotted ribbon. The response cards also have the bride/groom stamped on them. And as wedding gift I am making them some matching thank you cards. So I got to say I got my money out of that stamp. I hope you have enjoyed my invitations.

Valentine Party Invitaion

After I made this invitation, I decide that it reminded me more of Valentine's Day. I still showed my sister, and she didn't like this one either.

Oink Daisy Wedding Invitation

Another invite in pink. She ended up deciding on burnt orange as her wedding color. For this invitation had used the same concept as sample #1.

Pink & Black Wedding Invitation

Even thought my sister is getting married in October, when she first started planning she said that she wanted her wedding colors to be pink & black. So I saw this paper once again from Hobby Lobby and thought it was perfect. She didn't agree. However I have used this print for bridal shower invitations.

Elegant Wedding Invitation

I tried embossing on this invitation. It didn't turn out so well. The heat made the paper bubble up. But I did like the fact that the print was raised.

Sliver Hearts Wedding Invitation

Another invitation sample. This one I used the heart printed vellum on the front and used an additional piece of cardstock to print the verse on.

Rose Wedding Invitation

In January after my sister announced her engagement, I started craft storming (sorta like brain storming) and I came up with several invitations. This one was my favorite. I thought that it was very elegant. It was actually pretty simple too. I just use card stock for the card, rose printed paper from Hobby Lobby, and vellum that I printed the verse on and assembled them. The response card matched.

It's Monday Already!

Boy I can't believe how fast the weekend flew by. I guess it was because I was so busy. I had planned on working on some new cards. However that didn't happen, I did end up finishing my sister's wedding invitations. (will post later) I am glad to be done with them, if we could just gets the maps done they would be ready for mailing. Target date 8/17. Well I got to get supper started.

TGIF

I didn't think that this week was every going to end, especially today. I am not kidding you I think that time just stopped this afternoon around 3:00. That was the longest hour of my week. Anyways, sorry I haven't gotten any more cards posted this week. I was really busy on my day off organizing my scrap things. And yesterday when I come home from work i was sick, so no cards last night. But to night will be a late one. Tootaloo, I am off the to store now.

Butterfly Pocket

Okie's 7/29 Challenge Bonus Sketch
I don't know why I have never thought to make this type of card. It was very easy and fun. Tip: be sure to remove your tag before you punch and attach your front flower (I forgot) LOL

Circle's

Okie's 7/29 Challenge Sketch #3
As soon as I seen sketch #3, I knew what I was going to do. I make a scrapbook layout using these same circles. So these 5 were left overs from that project. After I finished I came up with a better sentiment "O Happy Day" So perhaps if I decide to recreate this card I will use that.

Baby Steps

Okie's 7/29 Challenge Sketch #2
Also for my first challenge. I am always needing baby shower cards. And this one is just perfect for a co worker. I used New Arrival cartridge to make the little feet. And the paper was double sided print that I had along with the ribbon. And then I just used a computer generated sentiment. Enjoy

Make A Wish

Okie's 7/29 Challenge Sketch #1
This was my first challenge card. I am very proud of it. I would have never made this card on my own. But I am thinking of using it for my best friends upcoming birthday.

Posting Frustration

So I have worked really hard the last 2 evenings on cricut challenge cards, and I just went to post them on the message board and I was told my file is to large. So now I have to figure out how to resize my photo. Technology Huh!!

New to Challenge Post

Last night I searched the cricut message board and found a few challenges that I wanted to participate in. So I went to my scrap table and started crafting and before I knew I had made 2 new cards ( I will post later). I wouldn't have thought to make either card if it had been for the challenge and I love both of them. I found another challenge that I am going to try tonight. These challenges are just the thing that I need to build up my card stock. I am hoping to sell a few cards at Christmas bazaar's. Wish me luck.

Thank You

Last Thank you card in my gift box. (that I have a photo of) I made a total of 8 but some times I didn't think to take pictures. This card is pretty simple. I found this weird green button with a hole in the center and decided to use it. Some how it just works. I think crafting is funny that way. July 2009

"Friend"

Another card for my gift box. It is hard to see, but the ribbon on the bottom of the card says "FRIENDS" This card could also be used as just because card. I free handed the stem and then used the left over poppy petals that I had laying around, and a button center. July 2009

Thanks a Bunch

This is another one of the thank you cards that I made for my gift box. I used Doodlecharms cartridge to create this card. This card would also be great for a teacher. July 2009

Thanks a Melon

I made a bunch of thank you cards for a co- worker that normally would purchase cards from me, as a get well gift. Mary had bought all of the thank you cards that I currently had made, before she went in for surgery last month. I was going to send her get well flowers but instead decided that she would get more joy out of my cards. So I made her several card and fancy flower pens and then I put them all in a beautiful floral gift box. More to follow. I used Doodlecharms cartridge.

Party Time Card

I have made this card several times. I mostly use it for birthday's but it could be used as an invitation for a cocktail party. I used Cuttin Up cartridgeI gave this to my boss last year for her birthday, she absolutly loves margs. She was so impressed by my card that she framed it. I was really touched. I have also made this card in the past for a 21st birthday with a pink glass and a cosmo recipe on the inside. May 2008
